On Saturday, Carlos Kendi, the C40 São Paulo Summit Committee Director, took the first step for the large cities event. “Today, we are actually starting C40. This is an event of São Paulo”.

On Sunday, the participants who worked together in six different groups divided by themes - water, air, earth, climate, mobility and waste - presented the results of their work from the day before. From detailed presentations, they showed problems and possible solutions caused by global warming and pollution and their impact on people’s health.

Some of the proposals discussed by the groups included construction of green areas, urban space management, public transportation facilities to reduce greenhouse gas emission, waste management, and environment education.

The workshop result will be gathered in a document to be presented during the C40 Sao Paulo Summit.
