Alternatives for urban environment

This session presented projects about renewable energy technology and its application in various urban and suburban environments with emphasis on the uses of Photovoltaics – the solar resources; bio-energy – different types of bio-fuels applications (building heating, transport) and the uses of Micro Wind Turbines – conventional wind turbine technology for most residential consumers living in urban areas.

The moderator was Johanna Partin, San Francisco Director of Climate Protection Initiatives; as speakers, Michael Geissler, CEO Berlin Energy Agency ; Elisa Barahona Nieto, Madrid Deputy Director of Sustainability, and Allan Jones, Sydney Chief Development Officer, Energy and Climate Change.
