The second plenary of C40 in Junn 2nd, was about “Urban Adaption and Planning” and moderated by Andres Pastrana, Colombia ex-president, with Sao Paulo’s mayor Gilberto Kassab, Sydney’s mayor, Clover Moore, the Environment Secretary of Hong Kong, Edward Yau and Heidelberg mayor’s, Eckart Wurzner.

Kassab highlighted the importance of C40 for the population, as its power to the decisions of environmental questions for the country. “Popular pressure helps the city halls on the conquest of our goals”, he said.

He pointed out the three current priorities in public administration: health, education and environment. He remembered that a few years ago environment was barely faced as a part of the government responsabilities.

He said once again it is a priority to increase funding for new subway lines. According to him, the city has today a bus fleet being renewed, despite of renewable fuel. He told about the vehicular inspection and the generation of clean energy and creation of new parks.
