São Paulo participates in international event on circular economy and urban resilience

Online meeting brings together representatives of Portuguese-speaking cities to discuss the cities recovery in the post-pandemic of Covid-19

On Tuesday morning (25), São Paulo participated in the Meeting of Portuguese-Speaking Cities, promoted by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Through an articulation of the Municipal Secretariat of International Relations, the Deputy-Secretary of Economic Development, Labour and Tourism, Armando Junior, represented the capital of São Paulo in the event. The activity was a part of the Network Workshop, broadcasted by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
 
During the event, the Deputy-Secretary Armando Junior presented the plans and action of São Paulo City for the resumption of economic development in the context of Covid-19. He also shared the strategies for integrating the circular economy into food management and job creation.
 
This was the first meeting of Portuguese-speaking cities promoted by the organization, which was attended by representatives from Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Salvador (BA), Curitiba (PB), besides the Portuguese cities of Lisbon, Porto and Torres Vedras. Lusophone cities of Africa also followed the activity. The objective was to discuss how the circular economy could be adopted in the post-pandemic scenario, in order to create more prosperous, inclusive and resilient cities.
