São Paulo participates in pre-launch of Latin America Smart Cities Network

A WeGO's initiative, were presented cooperation and modernization plans for Latin-Americans local governments

The City of São Paulo participated in the pre-launch of Latin America Smart Cities Network (LASCN), an initiative of World Smart Sustainable Cities Organizations (WeGO), last Wednesday (16). During the event, the organization presented a plan for the creation of a new space of cooperation and modernization for Latin-American local governments and heard the expectations from the cities of the region with the initiative.

The Secretary of International Affairs, Marta Suplicy, represented the capital of São Paulo in the event and participated in the opening ceremony, along with the Minister of Foreign Relations of Costa Rica, Rodolfo Quirós, and the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology of Brazil, Marcos Pontes.

The Coordinator of 011 Lab - Laboratory of Innovation in Government, Vitor Fazio (SMIT), presented the measures of modernization of public management that has collaborated for the creation of a more transparent and digital government in the City of São Paulo. Special Advisor for Innovation and Technology, Malu Molina, concluded the participation of the capital by presenting the city's expectations for LASCN, in addition to commenting on City Hall's projects that seek to use new technologies to fight structural racism and social inequality.
