Municipal Secretariat of International Affairs participates in meeting with the General Consulate of France in São Paulo

The main topics were the possibilities for cooperation in the areas of human rights, environment, and cultural exchange

The Municipal Secretary of International Affairs, Marta Suplicy, participated in a videoconference with the General Consul of France in São Paulo, Yves Teyssier d'Orfeuil, on this Wednesday afternoon (24). The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Secretary of International Relations, Ambassador Débora Vainer Barenboim-Salej, the International Relations Coordinator, Francisco Castro, and the Bilateral International Affairs Coordinator, Camila Assis. On the French side, the Head of Department of Cultural Cooperation and Action, Perrine Warmé-Janville, the Deputy Consul in charge of Political Affairs and Communication, Nicolas Laitselart, and the Economy Consul, Cyril Darneix joined the videoconference.

The main agenda of the meeting was the possibilities for cooperation on human rights issues, particularly about gender equality and combating structural racism, environment, and cultural exchange. Secretary Marta pointed out that France has a strong presence in the areas of education and economy in the city of São Paulo, highlighting potential forms of collaboration between the country and the municipality. The General Consul mentioned the actions that have been carried out in France for vaccination and discussed the possibilities for cooperation and exchange of experiences on this topic.

The videoconference brought the capital of São Paulo and the European country closer, in addition to promoting new opportunities for bilateral relations.
