Municipal Secretariat of International Affairs participates in a meeting with the ICLEI network

Via videoconference, the participants discussed the efforts to sustainable development

The international team of São Paulo City Hall participated in a meeting with the ICLEI network - Local Governments for Sustainability on this Wednesday afternoon (17). The video conference was conducted by the Municipal Secretary of International Relations, Marta Suplicy, and counted with the participation of the Deputy Secretary of Government, Flávio Borgheresi, the Chief of Staff of the Municipal Secretariat of Green and Environment, Rodrigo Ravena, the Executive Secretary of ICLEI South America, Rodrigo Perpétuo and the Manager of International Relations and Advocacy of ICLEI South America, Rodrigo Corradi.

The meeting was also accompanied by the Deputy Secretary of International Relations, Ambassador Débora Barenboim-Salej, the Chief of Staff of International Relations, Soninha Francine, the Coordinator of Institutional Relations for Brazilian Cities of ICLEI, Ana Wernke, and the Assistant of Institutional Relations of ICLEI South America, Thayná Shervis.

To present the priority actions of the current management for the sustainability guidelines, the participants discuss the simultaneous efforts of the two parts regarding sustainable development. During the meeting, Secretary Marta pointed out that the Secretariat is committed to building international collaborations to make the city of São Paulo more fair and sustainable.

On the videoconference, the international network suggested the municipality's participation in the event in the COP15 about Biodiversity. The participants also talked about climate justice projects for municipal schools and initiatives for environmental protection areas in the city. Another point addressed was the access to green technologies solutions developed by startups accelerated by the ICLEI Innovation program, which had the institutional support of the São Paulo Agency of Development (ADESAMPA).
