São Paulo participates in the international report on the location of the UN Sustainable Development Goals

The document analyzes the efforts to address the consequences of the Covid-19

The City of São Paulo's action for sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda in the city was part of the 5th edition of the report Hacia la localización de Los ODS, carried out by the Global Task Force of the United Cities and Local Governments (CGLU) network. This document was presented during the High-Level Political Forum, held last Friday (09).

The report analyzes the efforts made by local and regional governments to address the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2030 Agenda is universal, but development issues and world challenges. It makes it necessary to translate global commitments into adapted national and local goals. This report, therefore, seeks to strengthen the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), prepared by the United Nations where they are working for their implementation.

The city of São Paulo is an example. It brought the 2030 Agenda to the local reality and for its public policies aimed at sustainable development. In 2018, after Law No. 16,817/2018, the municipal administration instituted the Program for the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Healthy Development of the United Nations (UN).

This week, the City of São Paulo launched the Municipal Agenda 2030, created by the Municipal Commission for Sustainable Development, which adapts the goals to the reality of the city of São Paulo.
