Born in Trento, Italy, Chiara Lubich (1920-2008) was founder and president of the Focolare Movement (“focolare” means fireplace), whose purpose is to spread christian values and build unity within the human family enriched by diversity, promoting ecumenic and inter-religious dialogues. Focolare, one of the biggest temporal movements of the Catholic Church, is spread around over 182 contries, and gathers over two million supporters around the world.
