One of the most important writers in Brazilian literature, Tatiana Belinky is honored for her contribution to the dissemination of essential values such as respect, love, friendship and cooperation, all fundamental principles for the construction of culture of peace.


Born in Russia in March, 1919, Tatiana Belinky has lived in Brazil for over 80 years and considers herself Brazilian. Her name is a reference in children and youngsters’ literature, putting forth knowledge and at the same time respecting the demands, the sensitivity, the frailty and the imagination of a child. She published more than 120 books, many of them based on events from her own childhood and others brought or adapted from Russian and European traditional stories and myths.
She is also a translator and journalist, responsible for several theatre and television adaptations.
