Campo de Marte: Park and Aerospace Museum

The project, which seeks to provide a new facility for leisure and culture to civil society, is composed by a park and an aerospace museum with an area of 400,000 m² of the airport site of the Campo de Marte Aerodrome – received by São Paulo City Hall after negotiations with the Air Force.

Last February, it was published a calling for studies with the purpose to prospect solutions that contemplate, besides other aspects, the viability of the use of the space, the potential of exploitation of revenues and proposals that prescribe the synergy between different activities: Park, Museum, the Communitarian Sports Centre (CDC) and the multi-purpose esplanade.

Among the studies’ premises we highlight: (i) to not charge the São Paulo City Hall for the implementation and operation of the Park and the Museum; (ii) to not charge entrance in the park; (iii) to construct, operate and maintain the equipments; (iv) to reserve areas without buildings for the implementation of the Carnival logistics; (v) to preserve the vegetation of the Municipal Plan of Conservation and Recovery of Atlantic Forest in the City; and (vi) to guarantee the presence of a Communitarian Sports Centre (CDC) – headed by the Municipal Department of Sports (SEME).
